Maine best kept secret - New Harbor

Pemaquid Lighthouse: Maine's most historic light memorialized by the U.S. Mint on the Maine State Quarter. It was the first automated lighthouse in the State of Maine (1934). From the Moorings it is about 5 minutes by car and within walking distance for more hearty souls. You can visit Pemaquid Point and can experience Maine's most magnificent lighthouse along with its rich history. At the Point, there is a Fishermen's Museum, an art gallery with an opportunity to view and/or purchase the works of many local artists There is also a restaurant, The Sea Gull, with great views of Monhegan Island, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The lighthouse continues as an active aid to navigation. Your stay at the Moorings affords you all that Maine has to offer. Click on "Homepage" at bottom.
