"Eco friendly" has become so overused and trite that we refuse to use this characterization in connection with what we have achieved at the Moorings. What we can say is that we have lovingly restored neglected, abandoned, decaying houses while developing landscaped gardens from tangled hillsides. Out of the chaos we found, we have created The Moorings which consists of condo-like luxurious apartments with full kitchens, forced hot water heat individually thermostatically controlled, gas fireplaces, decks, indoor heated pool, cable tv, wifi, tennis court, hot tub and billiards room. (See Guest Testimonials on this page.)
The Moorings is for adults who desire a comfortable, quiet stay. (Children must be 18+). It offers 8 completely renovated and private apartments in historic homes. Rentals are weekly. No pets are allowed. Click on "Guest Apartments" to view interiors.

The Gatehouse is the latest addition to the Moorings overlooking both the newly uncovered rocky ledges and the harbor with its fleet of fishing boats. The dramatic site of the Gatehouse attracted an artist who spent a week painting our ledges, commenting: "This setting is the most magnificent juxtaposition of natural 'rock-bound' terrain and 'man made' building". See the artist's watercolor and its realization in the following photographs:

Walk around the Moorings: 2-minutes to REILLY'S STORE with fine meats, fish and produce, a full line of groceries, deli, newspapers, full liquors, excellent wines and beers, fresh bread and muffins, movie rentals. Hours: 8AM to 6PM every day. Then walk down the road to the Harbor and Back Cove. Later walk through the garden to the pool and hot tub.
An additional page added to the website consists of photographs taken throughout the 2009 Season.
